How Can Yoga Therapy Support + Empower YOUR Journey?
Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is a client-centric and empowering process where the client, with the help of the Yoga Therapist, implements a personalized and evolving evidence-based Yoga protocol, that not only addresses the illness from a multi-disciplinary platform, but also aims to alleviate the client’s suffering in a progressive, non-invasive and complementary manner.
Yoga therapy can also serve a means to manage the illness, or facilitate the healing process, and is the adaptation and application of Yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing health challenges at any level manage their condition, reduce symptoms, restore balance, increase vitality, and improve attitude.
How is it different from private yoga?
Yoga Therapy is offered by a trained and certified practitioner. I am trained under MUIH Masters of Yoga Therapy program and certified under the IAYT. Sessions are driven by client-defined goals towards finding relief or support, and do not follow the “flow” of a group yoga class. Sessions follow HIPAA guidelines, and all information and sessions are completely private and contained within the sacred space of the client-therapist relationship. A client can expect to fill out an intake form, receive postural and musculoskeletal assessments, receive evidence informed care, receive individualized + client-centric care.
Who is it for?
Yoga therapy recognizes the multifaceted nature of the human experience, and offers a platform to explore and support the individual on a physical, energetic, psycho-emotional, and eudaimonic/wisdom/bliss level. That means yoga therapy could be a good fit for anyone seeking a collaborative and holistic approach towards health, wellbeing, and meaning!
Yoga therapists are trained and certified to work alongside western healthcare and medicine from an evidence informed lens as a complementary therapeutic practice to facilitate a pathway towards healing by supporting emotional and physical resilience and wellbeing
The most powerful thing we can do for ourselves is recognize those moments when we need support. Let’s work together to manifest the quality of living you deserve!
